Housing

The Student Disability Resource Center is responsible for reviewing all requests for accommodations. Accommodations in campus housing may be approved on a case-by-case basis for students who demonstrate a significant need for these accommodations due to a diagnosed disability.

Process to request Housing AcCommodations

  • Students requesting housing accommodations must submit an online Request for Services and upload supporting medical/psychological documentation to support their housing request.
  • The Student Disability Resource Center will review all documentation and contact the student with next steps.
  • If approved, the Student Disability Resource Center will notify University Housing and Residence Life of the approval.
  • Housing staff will contact the student.
  • Housing and Residence Life determines any specific room assignment within a residence hall.

Roommate selection and assignment are addressed by University Housing and Residence Life and their application process, not by the Student Disability Resource Center.

Students must follow housing procedures requesting student housing and should be aware of published policies and deadlines for housing requests. Submitting requests for housing accommodations beyond the housing application dates specified by University Housing and Residence Life may limit the availability of housing options. Students should consult with University Housing and Residence Life for more information about their deadlines and policies.

Before requesting meal plan accommodations, please contact the General Manager, Dietitian and Chef with any concerns you may have at Dining@gcsu.edu or 478-445-8646.
